MONTCLAIR, NJ -- recorded a 340% increase in online sales in 2006; this increase ranked second highest among all United States companies according to the June issue of Internet Retailer magazine. The magazine also named the fastest growing pure-play Internet retailer in the country. 1-800-Diapers Inc., parent company of, grew its sales from $2.5 million in 2005 to $11 million in 2006. The company sells the largest selection of name brand diapers, wipes and formula on the Internet, offering customers low prices and the convenience of fast, free shipping.

1-800-Diapers was founded in 2005 by two entrepreneurial dads, Marc Lore and Vinit Bharara. The website initially offered only name brand diapers, later expanding to wipes, formula and a complete line of baby necessities, including soap, shampoo, creams, detergent, pacifiers, bottles and cups. Today, works with all the major suppliers and ships from two warehouses on both coasts.

“In many ways, it feels like we’re just getting started.
